Dear Colleagues:
It is with great pleasure and excitement that we invite you to attend the 2010 conference - Towards One Health: Multiple Disciplines Working Together for Optimal Health of People, Animals and the Environment, organized by The Canadian Association of Veterinary Epidemiology and Preventive Medicine (CAVEPM). Following with tradition, we have planned a pre-conference training workshop and a two-day conference and annual meeting. Participants are encouraged to attend one or both activities. The conference will be held at Rosanski Hall, University of Guelph, Ontario, Canada, from May 29-30, 2010.
The main goal of this conference is to bring together leading veterinary and public health epidemiologists and other professionals working on the interface between animals, humans, and the environment in Canada and abroad, to present and discuss the most recent scientific advances in these areas and opportunities for more effective and integrated approaches to achieve ‘one health’.
The short CAVEPM annual meeting scheduled during day two of the conference (May 30, 2010) gives the members a chance to evaluate the conference and provide feedback and ideas for the next event.
The pre-conference training workshop (May 26-28, 2010) will be delivered by a leading international group from Denmark in disease outbreak investigation. This topic is widely applicable to professionals likely to attend the conference.
Finally, we are certain that the location of this conference, in the small, eclectic city of Guelph, which is only an hour from the vibrant city of Toronto and 90 minutes from Niagara Falls, offers guests to the area a chance to experience some of southern Ontario’s main attractions.
