Pet Trust Research Committee
Membership
- Established primarily from Pet Trust Board members who volunteer to do this task
- Associate Dean, Research and Innovation
- Three practitioner representatives from the Pet Trust Board
- Three lay members of the Board, one of which is always the Humane Society representative
- One OVC Representative, who is also Chair of the Companion Animal Scientific Committee to provide a link between the two committees
- A representative from the OVCTH management group, usually the Small Animal Clinic head

Duties
- Reviews pre-proposals and recommends which applicants are invited to provide a full proposal for the funding competition
- Assess the ethical suitability of the proposed project, the relevance of the proposed project to companion animal health and well-being, and to determine if the project falls within the mandate of the Pet Trust research program
- It is not the role of the committee to decide on the scientific methodology or validity of the proposed project
- Identify any projects that they want to see as full proposals before being funded by Pet Trust
