OVC Graphic Guidelines
The Ontario Veterinary College has developed the following guidelines to assist the College community regarding the appropriate use of the OVC name, logos and crest. We've created a simple brand architecture that brings all our diverse units under the OVC umbrella and applies the same look and feel to each logo, from the College logo to custom logos for each department and program. Each logo is available in colour or black and white. These logos are intended for use on official correspondence (letterhead, forms), research posters, promotional materials and departmental web pages as well as audio-visual presentations and video productions.
The OVC logo is not intended to replace use of the University of Guelph's trademark identifier or cornerstone. It is meant to be used in a complementary fashion to strengthen the connection between OVC and the University of Guelph. Please consult the University of Guelph Graphic Standards Guide for more information. The guidelines below apply to all departments and units of the OVC as well as external organizations that have been granted permission to use College logos.
The OVC Logo
The OVC logo is the distinctive symbol of the College. Two options are available: one with "Ontario Veterinary College" in curvilinear type beneath the OVC crest, and one with horizontal type. The logo can be used in printed and electronic formats to provide instant name recognition and maintain a consistent, high-quality visual identity for all internal and external communications.

Guidelines for Acceptable Use
- Use the OVC logo on all official College communications.
- Departmental logos can be used for intra-departmental communications and materials.
- Do not use the OVC logo to promote an event or service that is not officially sponsored or sanctioned by the College even though that event may be held on campus.
- Do not combine or integrate the OVC logos with other logos or graphic elements.
- Use the artwork in the highest resolution appropriate for your use. Do not alter the image or distort the horizontal and vertical proportions.
- Position the logo parallel to the top or bottom of the screen or page; do not rotate.
- When used on the same page with other logos, the images should be separated by as much space as possible and accompanied by text that clearly articulates the relationship between the organizations represented, i.e. co-sponsors, joint academic partners, research collaborators.
- When using the OVC logo in addition to the University of Guelph cornerstone, please consult the University’s Graphic Standards Guide.
