Ontario Veterinary College

Welcome to the Ontario Veterinary College. Here you will find enthusiastic, dedicated faculty, staff and students, all of whom are excited to be working at the intersection of animal, human and environmental health. As the college approaches its 150th anniversary in 2012, our slate of activities will be even broader as we work to let others know about the many contributions veterinarians have made to our society. We are organized into four dynamic academic departments - Biomedical Sciences, Clinical Studies, Pathobiology and Population Medicine - plus the OVC Health Sciences Centre.

In addition to training future veterinarians and maximizing learning opportunities for our graduates, our work is focused on three broad areas that have a direct impact on our quality of life: Translational Biomedical Discovery; Individual Animal Health and Welfare; and Public Health and Animal Population Health. We are proud to be a founding college of the University of Guelph, a world leader in the life sciences and Canada's top-tranked comprehensive university.

For the health of all species, including our own.

The Ontario Veterinary College (OVC) is a world leader in veterinary health care, learning and research. We work at the intersection of animal, human and ecosystem health: training future veterinarians and scientists, improving the health of our animal companions, ensuring the safety of the food we eat and protecting the environment that we all share. It's been that way since 1862.
