Dr. Heather Chalmers
Dr. Chalmers is a graduate of the Ontario Veterinary College, 2002. Following graduation, she completed a small animal internship at the OVC before starting a residency in radiology at Cornell University. During her time at Cornell, Dr. Chalmers was involved in a research project assessing early bone density changes in dogs with hip dysplasia using computed tomography (CAT scans). Following completion of her residency, Dr. Chalmers returned to the OVC and is currently a faculty member in the Department of Clinical Studies. She has been a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Radiology since 2006. Dr. Chalmers maintains a special interest in canine hip dysplasia and is pleased to be involved in the hip certification program here at the OVC.
Dr. Stephanie Nykamp
Dr. Nykamp is a graduate of the Ontario Veterinary College, 1997. Following graduation, she worked in mixed private practice in Ontario before returning to the OVC for a small animal internship in 1999. Upon completion of her internship, Dr. Nykamp did a residency in radiology at Cornell University and became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Radiology in 2003. Dr. Nykamp is currently a faculty member in the Department of Clinical Studies and is the head of the radiology section. Since her return to the OVC, Dr. Nykamp has successfully implemented a residency training program and is currently orchestrating the transition to digital imaging at the OVC.
