Dr. Chantale Pinard, DVM, MSc, DACVO

Originally from Ottawa, Ontario, Dr. Chantale Pinard graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College (OVC) in 1993. She practiced mixed, small animal and equine medicine for four years before returning to OVC to complete a small animal internship in 1997-98. Dr. Pinard practicedsmall animal emergency medicine in private practice for an additional one year before completing her comparative ophthalmology residency with Master`s in Clinical Sciences at Kansas State University 1999-2002. She is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists. She joined the Faculté de medicine vétérinaire, Université de Montréal, St-Hyacinthe, as a clinical instructor from 2002 to 2007. She has been a faculty member at OVC since 2007 and is Associate Professor, Ophthalmology, in the Clinical Services Department.

Her main devotion is to teaching undergraduate and graduate students. Her research interests include intraocular inflammation and exotic ophthalmology. Her clinical interests reside with adnexal and intraocular surgery as well as exotic ophthalmology. 

Since 2008, she has been a guest lecturer at the Atlantic Veterinary College, University of Prince Edward Island, PEI (with the exception of 2011). In addition, during this time period, she has provided clinical rotation locums for the senior students at AVC.
