To schedule a room for a symposium or other presentation, please call Barb Gaudette at x54406. External users should discuss their Audio Visual needs with Teaching Support Services, internal users can contact the OVC ITS at ovcits@uoguelph.ca or x54778. All presentations should be backed up on a CD or USB memory stick to assure that your presentation will run smoothly. Please arrange to have some assistance setting up your presentation or other A.V. equipment at least fifteen minutes in advance of the start of your event.
Non-OVC users should book technical assistance through Teaching Support Services at x52778.
OVC users can call OVC ITS for assistance in setting up and running the A.V. equipment in all classrooms, or if the classroom equipment or the network connections malfunction. Please call extension 54778, Monday through Friday, from 8:30 am to 4:45 pm.
If you will require technical support outside of business hours, you will need to make arrangements with OVC ITS in advance as we do not provide on call support. We will do our best to accommodate requests based on staff availability. External clients will be required to pay an hourly fee for after hours technical support at a cost of $50 per hour. Depending on the requirements and following HR guidelines, a minimum charge for 3 hours support may be required.
In rooms 1434, 1438, 1713, 1714, and 1715 data projectors are controlled through a touch screen system. If the touch screen is dark, touch it once, and the OVC window will come up. Touch the OVC screen and you will see the menu providing display options for the computer. Note that the control screens in the 1700 and 1400 rooms are slightly different. The following documents provide detailed instructions for each project touch screen control systems:
IMPORTANT: Touch the time remaining button on the contol panel to give yourself and appropriate amount of time to finish your presentation. With 5 minutes remaining, you will see a warning message on the touch pad. When time runs out, the projector will automatically shut down.

OVC ITS has three portable projectors available for loan to the OVC community. Each may be booked for OVC related functions. For booking and/or technical assistance, please contact OVC ITS at x54778.
Room interlink allows for overflow from 1714 to 1713 and/or 1715. The presentations and audio can be transmitted from 1714 to the outer rooms (1713 and 1715). With the use of a moderator, questions can be asked and responded to from outer rooms to the main room. Please book this feature well in advance, as Teaching Support Services equipment must be booked.
Video conferencing is freely available to members of the OVC community. The video conferencing system is an IP based Polycom ViewStation FX.
