Charles Helps Pet Trust Spread the Word
"I chose to present Pet Trust to my class because our family dog, Groucho (an English Bulldog) died from canine cancer. I never got a chance to meet him. Now that we have a new dog, Louis (a Dogue de Bordeaux), I want to make sure that he does not die from canine cancer as well. I came across the Pet Trust website and its logos really caught my eye, like love/live, care/cure, and find/fund. I am going to try to come up with some of my own too! I will be presenting the charity, along with my display and a class wide activity for my classmates in February. I will send you pictures and let you know how it goes. Wish me luck!"
Talia's Fridge Magnet Campaign
Not quite 9 years old, Talia is a force to be reckoned with. Her entrepreneurial spirit and her passion for dogs and reaching out to help others, have come together in a fund raising effort that is truly spectacular. Founded in the spring of 2001, The Smiling Blue Skies Cancer Fund (part of the University of Guelph's Veterinary College and Teaching Hospital Pet Trust) raises money for the treatment and research of cancer in companion animals, and all the research done, benefits both the precious people and pets in our lives. Talia's love for dogs has translated into a business enterprise creating beautiful bottle cap magnets, with 100% of the proceeds being donated to The Smiling Blue Skies Cancer Fund. Talia offers generic designs as well as custom portrait services.
