GRADUATE STUDIES IN THERIOGENOLOGY
The Department of Population Medicine at the Ontario Veterinary College is seeking applicants for a graduate program in Theriogenology leading to a Doctor of Veterinary Science DVSc. Degree. Start date negotiable.
The 3-year program provides graduate training in Theriogenology (equine, companion animals, food animals). Clinical duties, including emergency on-call, for OVC Theriogenology patients will comprise a major portion of the program. In addition, the program requires completion of a graduate level research project and thesis. This program is designed to provide the individual with sound clinical and research training in the specialty of Theriogenology, allowing fulfillment of requirements of the American College of Theriogenologist board examination.
Candidates for the DVSc program in Population Medicine must be: registered in the Graduate School of the University of Guelph, accepted by the Department of Population Medicine Graduate Studies Committee and accepted by the Ontario Veterinary College’s Interdepartmental DVSc Committee.For admission to the program, applicants must have a DVM degree or equivalent, with a minimum of 73% in their DVM program and be a Canadian citizen, landed immigrant, or have a student visa. Eligibility for licensure by the College of Veterinarians of Ontario is essential.Previous internship or practice experience is required as well as a demonstrated interest in the field of Theriogenology.
The remuneration for this position is $31,920.68/annum Canadian (subject to change and/or increase). Graduate tuition fees and ancillary fees are now $8,092/annum for Canadians and Landed Immigrants; and $17,464 Canadian/annum for international students (including U.S. citizens).Graduate student fees are an income-tax deductible expense in Canada. Health Insurance for Canadians/Landed Immigrants can be arranged with your home province. International students pay approximately $756.00/annum in the fall of the year (single person coverage).
