Welcome to the Ontario Veterinary College (OVC) at the University of Guelph.

With faculty and administration sharing like-minded ideas on furthering animal care, research and innovative teaching methodologies, OVC offers a rich and intense learning environment to students. Teaching hospital and facilities specialize in large and small animals, with dedicated intensive and oncology care, mean the potential for hands-on and applied learning are endless.

The OVC is one of the founding colleges of the University of Guelph, a university consistently ranked the top comprehensive university in Ontario and placed among the top three in Canada by Maclean's Magazine. A national survey of university graduates rated the University of Guelph number one in all but one category, putting it at the top of the list of universities graduates would endorse.

One of five veterinary colleges in Canada, OVC is accredited by the Canadian and American Medical Associations and the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons of the United Kingdom. OVC grads can be licensed in these countries, giving graduates a spectrum of opportunities.

"I chose OVC first and foremost because of the welcoming atmosphere and the support system that we have here. Afer speaking to current students and hearing their experiences here, I knew this was the place for me. Since my first day here at OVC I have felt like I belong and I always have someone to ask for help. Our professors are what I think make the school top 10 in the world, they are some of the best specialists in their field not only in Canada but in North America. I enjoy coming to lecture and hearing their real life stories and cases to learn and apply the concepts they are teaching. I love being an international student, it has been one of the most amazing experiences living in another country and following my dreams to becoming a veterinarian. I have no doubt in my mind that I made the right decision and I am so happy with my education here at OVC"
