There are three underpinnings that guide everything that happens at the Ontario Veterinary College: Learning. Animal Care. Research.

In everything the college does and teaches, each is connected to the next, creating a rich learning environment with depth and breadth of experiences.

Dedicated to improving health -- the health of animals, humans and the environment, the approach is three-fold:

  • Maximizing learning for students, faculty, staff and alumni
  • Advancing veterinary health care for pets, agricultural animals including high-performance athletes such as horses, and wildlife
  • And championing multi-disciplinary research that contributes to understanding the underlying mechanisms of disease in all species.

Four dynamic academic departments -- Biomedical Sciences, Clinical Studies, Pathobiology and Population Medicine -- plus the OVC Health Sciences Centre -- as well as all the faculty and staff that work within the units make this philosophy a reality.
