There is plenty to do at the OVC aside from studies, including like-minded groups, volunteer opportunites, and more. With a student-first focus, being engaged and plugged into everything the school offers is easy.

Extracurricular activities provide opportunities to broaden an education experience. Connecting to other students, faculty, alumni and individuals through a variety of ways serves to enhance and encourage a well-rounded education.

There are many mentoring and extracurricular opportunities for student veterinarians at OVC including the Alumni Mentor Program, the Summer Career Opportunities and Research Experience Program (CORE) and the Veterinary Experience Program (VEP).

Student life at OVC is rich and rewarding, with over 20 DVM student clubs representing a wide range of interests within the student body. Each club provides networking and educational activities for its members and the students at OVC.

We also offer many sources of support for our DVM students, including a team of Peer Helpers that organize activities and assist students in their class, health and counselling services, and lots of ways to socialize and be active.
