The OVC Research Support Services (RSS) group provides administrative, technical, clerical, financial and advisory support for researchers and manages and administer funds derived from several sources including the Infrastructure Operating Fund (for CFI-funded infrastructure), funds from indirect costs and MTCU funds resulting from increased graduate student enrollment.
Responsibility of the RSS group includes:
- Management of Infrastructure; long-term planning, fund-raising and budgeting for research infrastructure sustainability, promotion of equipment use, funds for equipment acquisition and maintenance, management of large research animal housing at OVC
- Management of Research Funds; management of Infrastructure Operating Fund, Research Contingency Fund, Pet Trust Research Funds
- Administrative Support; Administration of internal granting organizations and competitions (Pet Trust, Equine Guelph), support for OMAFRA research program, guidance on facilitating clinical research including clinical trials, workshops for writing grants and scientific manuscripts, support for graduate programs including stipend support, Summer Leadership and Research Program
- Strategic planning, liaison and communication; identification of research needs and directions, strategic focus for major scholar and infrastructure awards, international research and industry collaborations, information management and communications
