Incoming veterinary students will have orientation acitvities tailored to their specific needs. Activities typically begin on the Tuesday after Labour Day and full details are provided to the incoming class in the months prior to their arrival.

The University of Guelph's orientation events are held over a full week starting on the Saturday before Labour Day. Events include the President's Welcome for Families, campus tours, pep rallies, concerts, movie screenings, special lectures, and Guelph's annual World Record Challenge!

Students who are moving in to residence will have plenty of opportunities to meet and connect with others living on campus before classes begin. The majority of incoming DVM students live in off-campus housing and often share apartments and rent houses with their fellow veteirnary students. Students communicate through the class Facebook group, listserve, and ads can be seen on The Cannon, The Guelph Mercury, and other media. Be sure to physically visit any site you are interesting in renting. To educate yourself on tenant and landlord rights and regulations click here.
